Sarah and her dad ran a 5K race on Saturday. She finished 6th in her age group! She ran so well, and even was able to sprint to the finish. Of course, the after-race collapse was attended to by her 2 year old brother, Anders. We are so proud of her!

No doubt about it: Sarah's trip with Grandma Shirley and Grandpa Bob to Chicago was a huge success! Wicked, the American Girl Place, Chicago Art Museum; everything was perfect!

Anders is losing his baby fat and his face is starting to look like a Griffin. Welcome to the age of 2.

We celebrated Anders' 2nd birthday with friends on the 12th of September. We all enjoyed the cake. His favorite present was balloons. He is starting to gain language so quickly. He also likes to copy his older brother--uh oh!

Dad's new Cannondale bike, rigged with Zipp racing wheels, is ready to go for the August 9th Utah half ironman. Ooooh baby, what a ride.

Jake and Sarah's rooms received some desk furniture this summer in preparation for the school year. Both children are very excited about it. Dad assembled the pieces out of the box, and mom reorganized their rooms. They are pretty lucky children.

We sure did have a fun time at Hawaii this Spring. Though several of us caught a mysterious GI illness, I think we'll remember this trip forever.

Sarah had a wonderful baptism. Several of her friends were in attendance, and, of course, Grandma Shirley and Grandpa Bob were there to witness and celebrate!

Here are Jake and Anders in our front yard. We've been so lucky to have wonderful fall weather-the colors are beautiful and the kids had a lot of fun trick-or-treating this year.

I participated in my first triathlon today. If not the hardest, it was certainly one of the most strenuous things I've ever done. It was "sprint distance" 500m swim, 25k bike, and 5k run. My time will be posted on the Black Canyon Sprint Triathlon web site tomorrow. I finished middle of the pack. My next goal is an "olympic distance" triathlon in St. George in May. I'd love to do it with any of my siblings, should they so desire--need to start training soon!

Baby Anders Gardner Griffin was born 13:03 on September 12, 2006. His weight was 7 lbs 5 oz and he was 20 inches. I was very impressed with Jolie's labor and delivery--she did it without any anesthesia, which is very unusual these days. She labored about 12 hours and pushed about 20 minutes at the end. Mom and Baby are home and healthy.

Sarah is delivering one of her lines in the play here. She did a wonderful job. Its clear she is not intimidated by the stage, spotlight, or audience. The play ran for 4 consecutive nights, each one smoother than the night before, but pretty good for only 2 weeks of rehearsals. Sarah was one of 4 sorcerers.

We sure did have some fun times up at Tahoe. Sarah and Jacob loved being with their cousins Matt, Robert, and Emma. This was a fun rest stop at Donner Summit.

Sarah graduated from Kindergarden today. She loved Mrs. Younker, her teacher (on right). There was quite a bit of "pomp and circumstance", but mostly the class sang songs and said their goodbyes. Sarah will be entering the covetted 1st/2nd grade class in August.

These kids were making money hand over fist. Sarah, in her pink hat and sundress, would stop nearly every car and truck on our little street.

Sarah and Jacob were selling lemonade on the street today. Our neighbor was doing a garage sale, so it was a perfect location. They cleaned up. Sarah said "this is my kind of day". We took the proceeds and went shopping for Mother's Day gifts.

This is Sarah and Jessica, her piano teacher. Sarah played 3 songs from memory at her first recital. Despite being the first performer in front of some 40 people, she showed a lot of poise and confidence.

Jacob's Birthday, 3/8/06. He is 4 years old, and we are celebrating with a few good friends at, you guessed it, Chuck-E-Cheese.

This picture, expertly taken by Jolie, is another Easter-morning scene. Pretty good-looking trio, I'd say.

This is Dad, Sarah and Jacob on Easter Morning. We had such a beautiful day to take pictures. We just lacked a photographer, so all of us couldn't be in the picture. The kids enjoyed hunting eggs in the yard that morning.
